Sparkles

May we wish you a sparkly, vibrant and…Happy New Year! M and C

Snow

The last rose in our garden still bright red. It snowed all night and now it’s  a beautiful frozen red beacon in an otherwise white garden. M

I guess that very little can compete with the exciting sensation of trudging through deep snow – if you are a six year old! This was taken in 2009 – the big freeze here in the UK. More snow fell last year and we have already received a sprinkling this winter. Our lane resembles an ice rink and the lake has frozen over enough to skate on it. Snow is pretty, but in my book, slippery roads and paths are no fun at all! C

Waves

Blue waves of ceramic. A bowl reminiscent of the southern atlantic waters that bathe the shores where I grew up. M

Oh, the joys of a Cornish summer…great memories as we hurtle towards the end of the year. Having fun in the waves with her Daddy x

Corners

Houses painted in bright colours, even brighter thanks to blue skies and the strong south american sun.
Argentina – December 2009 M

No bright colours here…the antiqued silver finish on these pointy little  decorations mimic the weather at the moment – a touch frosty in the early hours, whilst the sparkle of sunlight provides a glimmer of warmth.  C

Pink

Macro view of one flower made up of a multitude of little pink flowers. M

A hint of kitchen pink with an added layer of texture courtesy of Picnik. I couldn’t resist a quick try…C

Stars

According to my son, this cabbage is a “ball of stars”… love the imaginative eye through which the world is appreciated by the little ones. M

She likes the notion of becoming a scientist; following sightings of the international space station last year, the telescope became her favourite thing….and the night sky her friend. C

First he gives them to me, then he steals them away right in the middle of a macro photo session… thieving hands caught in the act. M

Being Princess Fiona…and so begins the long six week school holiday. Summer’s here! C

Undulating

In the tinctoreum garden, Solidalgo undulates in the wind.  M

Harbourside, a knotty woven reel caught my eye. C

Spicy

3 sabores, 3 colores | Especias.  3 Tastes, 3 colours| Spices.
Pots with 3 types of pimiento/peppers powder I bought in the Fruit and Vegetable market in Valencia, Spain. Just a tiny spoon and you are running for water to put out the fire! M

I think of ‘spicy’ and I can only think of chili peppers…they’re too spicy for me!! (M, we were almost on the same wavelength!) C

A Lupinus leaf forms a little basket and holds on to the last few drops of water in a hot summer day. M

Sunlight dances over water, rippling atop a glass roof whilst the flags of the SS Great Britain wave in the breeze. C
